4th Grade Paper Pollock Weaving

4th grade students just finished an extremely fun project.  We started out by learning about the artwork of Jackson Pollock.  Pollock is famous for his "splatter" paintings in the abstract expressionist style.  Students got their turn to do two splatter paintings of their own.  These paintings were eventually cut up and woven together to achieve the end result you see here.

I love these! I am definitely going to use this even though i hate teaching paper weaving because there is always that group of kids that cuts the wrong side and ruins their paper when you told them a million times to cut the folded side! Great blog!

Thanks! I stressed cutting correctly, but still had to do a little tape "surgery" for a few kids. I was really excited at how successful everyone was with this project.
